Tin Star – my new addiction

The new 10-part British thriller series on Sky Atlantic started whilst we were away and although really bloody and violent, which is most definitely not my cup of tea, stars Tim Roth, who I love from Fox Network’s very much short-lived drama series Lie To Me. Former London police detective Jim Worth is the new police chief of Little Big Bear, a small town in the Canadian Rockies, where he has moved with his family to escape his past. The influx of migrant workers because of a new big oil company, headed by the mysterious Mrs Bradshaw, forces Worth to confront the resulting wave of crime that threatens the town. Worth’s stand against the criminals results in vigilante groups attacking him and his family, leading Worth to slip into his violent alter-ego, Jack Devlin, to exact revenge.

The cast is awesome. Headed up by Tim Roth as the new police chief whose life has hit the big shit. I keep watching it even though each episode delivers something else that is more nailbiting than before.
Tim Roth | as Jim Worth
Genevieve O’Reilly | as Angela, Jim’s wife
Roark Critchlow | as Detective Inspector Benoit Lehane, Royal Canadian Federal Police
Christina Hendricks | as Elizabeth Bradshaw, Vice President of Stakeholder Relations
Christopher Heyerdahl |as Louis Gagnon, the company’s Head of Security
Ian Puleston-Davies | as Frank Keane, a criminal figure from Jim’s past

Where is it set? Little Big Bear, a made-up town amongst Canada’s rocky mountains. There is a lot of beautiful scenery which you get to see a lot in almost every scene. Beautiful landscapes, rocky mountains, lots of greenery and more. Makes you just want to move there. Filming actually took place in Alberta, Canada from June to December 2016.

I’m currently on episode 7 and have 3 episodes to go. I won’t say what’s happened or happening, that is for you to decide if you watch it yourself. I’m intrigued to see what happens from here and who exactly Jim Worth really is.
You can watch Tin Star on Sky Atlantic now.
